Scott Whitelaw is an environmental, health and safety professional having 30 years of operational and management experience. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Florida Institute of Technology and an MBA with an emphasis in Energy Management from the University of Denver.

Scott began his career in Louisiana as a contract employee working on oil and gas offshore rigs, progressing quickly into a management position in an oil field service company working and living in Southeast Asia. Upon returning to the United States, Scott entered graduate school working as a graduate research assistant while earning his MBA.  Upon graduation, Scott was selected to Conoco Inc’s prestigious management development program. He worked with Conoco for 10 years working in various oil and gas upstream, downstream and transportation areas in Colorado, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming.

Scott is currently the Vice President for EHS&S for Texas United Corporation. For the past 16 years he has been active in hydrocarbon storage, solution mining, salt mining and manufacturing, responsible for environmental, health, safety, security, regulatory and governmental affairs.  Company operations are located in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Virginia and New York.

Over his career, Scott has been active in numerous local, state and national committees addressing emergency, environmental and safety issues. He is a frequent speaker for various organizations, companies and conferences including the National Safety Council, Texas Chemistry Council, and American Chemistry Council.

Scott has facilitated workshops and seminars for the Texas Chemical Council, American Chemistry Council, National Safety Council and a various top 100 corporations. Scott is a featured columnist for the Business & Industry Connection and is a Co-Author of the book, “Earl’s Pearls, Jewels of Wisdom Worth Passing On.”

Growing up as an army brat and working in the oil and gas business provided Scott the geographical and cultural experiences of living in 11 different U.S. states and 4 foreign countries. Scott resides in Houston, Texas and has two children. Tori is a graduate of Texas A&M and is attending LSU Law School and Bo is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
